What I have read from the speaker’s point of view is that he along with other believe the internet and web access is becoming a lee-way to information but not considered true knowledge. The speaker wrote this article to let the public that there ate people who are concerned on how our future may be if we do not take a step back and look at how technology of the web is effecting our human minds. From many different quotes form other people that have the same view of the internet as he does, they are saying people are cheating themselves by just looking up information instead of doing research and hard work. They believe you are not truly learning and understanding if you do not put in the effort and time to receive the information. There were many facts about the way we are teaching and learning.
It is known that humans that reading is not an instinctive skill and is something that must be taught and practiced to fully understand the correct way to store information in our minds. Humans remember information more if they read into depth and fully comprehend the text. This explains how by using the internet you usually skim so further more you can not fully comprehend the text properly. This text expresses that human brains continuously to lose information if not properly exposed and instructed.. It also reveals that by using your inner mind and intelligence, you staying true to the native way things were being done. Well honestly I do not agree with this text. Even though the use of library cards ,magazines, and newspapers has gone down that doesn’t mean we are cheating ourselves out of true wisdom. By using the internet it does not mean that we are becoming machine like in any way. I believe the internet and Google especially has been one of the greatest achievements that we as human beings have created. . If you understand or not we are the people who began the internet web access altogether. We as human beings have continually tried to make this technology more effectant and reliable for people access.
To begin with, websites is the ending result of hard working and endless time of building from the ground up on a specific subject. For instance say if it took one day to fully put everything that can possibly be known on a single subject. The website Google itself has an un endless amount of information on numerous amounts of subjects. This means that the website itself has took years and years of time and un endless thinking techniques just for someone in another part of the world to look up something as simple as a single definition. So when you really look at how much time and patience it takes to help build a single source of information you understand that you have already put in the effort and is able to go back and look up certain ideas on different subjects. We has humans have many different ideas that we have learned and processed from the internet access that it is overwhelming. Also back in older times many people believed that the making of the printing press was going to become what the web is today. To them if you didn’t get your information form a scripture of scrolls you also weren’t working hard enough to receive the information. The same goes for the modern days and the invention of technology and the web. If we came from scrolls to books to computers and the web then haven’t when we as human beings became smarter? If anything we are becoming better with technology and more aware of our minds and the ability to produce something that has never been done before. We make the technology and the web is just another way for the different worlds to exchange information. I believe there will never be a time where technology will be smarter than humans because if we make it then we can destroy it. As time and knowledge continue to advance we will never be able to say that artificial intelligence is greater that the human mind
